Grace Lutheran Church

Our Ministries

Children's Bible Time

A special children's time is provided for our youngest worshipers.  During the readings and sermon they will be led out by our staff to hear a Bible Story and work on age appropriate activities.  Children return to their families for the remainder of the service.  Every Sunday except the first Sunday of the month.

Bible Study
Feed your body, feed your mind, feed your soul!
Every wednesday - 1 pm for an hour of fellowship and education. All are welcome.

Confirmation
Children in 6th grade and up are invited to take part in our confirmation program.

Rejoicing Spirits
As a Rejoicing Spirits host site we provide people with disabilities, their families, friends and other supportive community members an opportunity to come together at 2pm on the first Sunday of every month, to worship in a 'shush-free,' open environment: people can express themselves without being told to "be quiet”, or “sit still.” !

Adult Choir
Our Adult Choir is under the direction of Ms. Joy Brett. They practice each Wednesday night at 7:00 pm (late August - early June). They sing during the worship service, either leading the congregation through the hymns or offering a special selection for the day. No auditions are necessary, all welcome!

Monthly Mission Jug

Each month we designate a different missional emphasis for our weekly jug collections. These funds, outside of our regular offering, go to organizations such as: ELCA Disaster Relief, LSS, the INN, Wounded Warriors, Uniondale HS Scholarship, Hofstra Campus Ministry, New LIFE Center, etc.

New LIFE Center
Grace Lutheran is proud to be home to the New LIFE Center and LSS Immigration Services, which are operated by Lutheran Social Services of New York.

The New LIFE Center operates a food pantry that provides emergency food to individuals and families. They offer holiday baskets of food during Easter, Thanksgiving and Lent. New LIFE Center's other ministries include infant layettes for new mothers, Christmas sponsorship, school supplies, and sponsorships for summer camp. For more information or to volunteer and/or make a donation, contact Hylkije Halili at (516) 483-3240.
